Ziggy Marley, son of the reggae legend Bob Marley and his wife Rita, established himself as a prominent figure in reggae music as the leader of the Melody Makers and later as a solo artist. While upholding the socially conscious values of his family’s legacy, Marley carved out his own space in global music and culture. With his younger siblings, he infused reggae with vibrant pop sounds in the late ’80s, achieving commercial success.

Like his father, Marley has also used his voice for political activism and philanthropy, founding the children’s health and education charity U.R.G.E. He has composed music for and appeared in several television shows, including Sesame Street and Hawaii Five-O, and has even released a couple of children’s albums, including 2020’s collaborative effort More Family Time.
