Matisyahu is a rapper and singer known for blending reggae and hip-hop with his spirituality and Judaism roots. His 2004 debut album, Shake Off the Dust…Arise, showcased his unique persona as a Hasidic Jew dressed in traditional garb, performing reggae music with a dancehall style and stage diving.

Despite initial skepticism, his diverse style earned him gold record certifications, a Grammy nomination, and a broad audience. He has since toned down his Hasidic persona but remains a potent performer with strong ties to Israel. His seventh album, Matisyahu, was released in 2022.
